Painting Process | Erins World Travels

Erin12

Now that my lovely lady has a large office with a window, she is going to need some wall decor. Having traveled the world extensively, she requested a montage of her favorite destinations. This image is an amalgamation of Machu Picchu, The Great Wall of China, Summer Palace in Beijing, Lotus Flower in Macau, Chinese Lanterns in Shanghai and a water rock formation off the coast of Peru.

Here is the process thus far… it is about 50% complete.

Erin1

Starting with the meridians.

Erin2

Time to show Machu Picchu some love, you big beautiful mountain formation.

Erin3

Rounding out the fundamental composition.

Erin4

Mr. Sharpie, create contrast.

Erin5

Machu Picchu is hard enough to draw, making it must have been quite a challenge.

Erin6

Almost time for the red wash. Naturally, these pictures were taken in low light, and as a result, are poor to very poor in quality.

Erin7

Here comes the color.

Erin8

It’s Christmas underneath many of my canvases.

Erin9

Sometimes I wish Lionore from the Thundercats would say, “Primary Colors, HO!”

Erin10

The greens are here.

Erin11

Here is comes… wait for it.

Erin12

Goodness, gracious, Great Wall of China. Stay tuned for the final piece.. with the process. Ladies, you will be able to see this canvas in person during your initial intake (sorry, I can’t help but promote my lady, she is quite talented.)
