Born and raised in Long Island with forays to NYC, Boulder, and DC, Honerkamp, as he is known by friends and colleagues alike, has worn many hats. As a national champion at Chaminade High School (NY), NCAA All-American at St. John’s University (NY), and an Olympic Trials qualifier, running has been his passion for many years. Upon graduating from St. John’s, John began his professional career competing for the Reebok Enclave in DC, and currently represents the esteemed New York Athletic Club (NYAC).
Honerkamp’s other hats include proprietor in a family-owned plywood company, Director of Operations for an acupuncture school, and (currently) track coach at his alma mater. Honerkamp holds an MBA, with a focus in marketing and freelances in the land of marketeering.
Among his favorite things are steak, Mark Rothkos Blue, the Tour de France and the movie Amelie. Honerkamp is also an aspiring improv artist. Universally known as the life of the party, John will be in charge of libational distribution and entertainment at Urbania.
