There are numerous advantages to being Kanye West. First, everything you say and tweet will be analyzed to pieces. Second, you can have someone draw you standing there and make a whole music video out of it. Ah, the wonderful world of Kanye. Now is this in fact a portrait? I would say yes, yes it is. Of course, video art is considered the hotness these days… so why wouldn’t Kanye jump on the train and take it for a Kanye-centric ride?

Some fans think this video should end up in the MOMA. My thoughts? Who cares. If Tim Burton can have a fully at the MOMA, why can’t Kanye slap his Marco Brambilla directed homage to himself in the foyer. If you have ever been to the MOMA (or any museum for that matter), there is always some garbage you see and think, “for real? That’s a real piece of garbagio.” 99% of video installations are looped videos of some mundane crap you have to pretend to understand, and can only appreciate if you are rockin’ the gange.
