Painting Process | BTK Band Portrait in The Dark (Not Spiderman)

BTK Band Painting by Borbay

If you haven’t seen the BTK Band, I seriously recommend it. Even having seen some Youtube clips, I had no idea how bonkers this thing was in person. Of course, I had the pleasure of capturing it first hand on a 16″X20″ canvas in 2.5 hours, as seen above. Hell, I even contributed to the show, not without some tribulation…

After the jump, see my night progress from Danish Nerd to paint-soaked artist. Thank you to all who came out last night.

Starting the night off right, Carlsberg and Twitter. Yes, this makes me a wannabe Danish nerd.

The seedy underbelly of the subway system. Rats! Literally. Everywhere.

What? What? Gotta hit up Bull McCabes for several pre show pints, to plot a split personality disorder and talk movies with McM, Mahones and Eamon.

Get ready for some of the most washed out, over flashed process shots. I was literally painting in the dark.

Yes, a burlesque dancer (Lady Scoutington?) was about two feet in front of me on top of a speaker.

Getting close, finally put a small flashlight on the wall to help me see the final bits.

Again.

A good view of the scene and the light I was actually painting in, half of the canvas was on the dark side of the moon.

If you were there, you will notice that I didn’t time out my monologue properly. It was way short and I didn’t understand the musical interlude queues. It’s all good, because I demanded a Web Redemption. Right Tosh?
