It’s been a very Canadian year on the easel. This little canvas was created for friend, and major Canadians fan Yanik Deschenes. Here’s a quick snapshot of the process.
A base level of collage… a balance of ransom style and straight headlines.
The initial drawing of the logo done with a thin sharpie, and straight from the tube Cadmium Red.
Taking shape… I wanted to keep the base original headlines in the background with the logo popping.
And completed… as they year of Canadian painting continues. Thank you again for the hospitality during Advertising Week Mr. Deschenes — enjoy the painting, and here’s hoping Price starts plugging things up for your boys.
