NEW YORK, NY – September 13, 2012 — In early July, Red Bull invited Borbay to participate in the national art project and exhibition — Red Bull Curates. On September 13, 2012, at 9PM, Red Bull will display 30 functional pieces of art created by New York’s most innovative contemporary artists at ‘The Space at Fifty North Third‘ in a blockbuster art event.

Fans and a luminary panel of judges including Ron English will vote 3 artist through to participate in a Red Bull Curates group exhibition this December in at SCOPE MIAMI during the Art Basel Season, joining 3 artists from Los Angeles and Chicago, respectively.

The entire event will be captured on video and turned into a documentary directed by Robert Christian Malmberg and produced by Term of Art. Here is a preview:

ON BORBAY

Time Out New York’s Most Creative New Yorker has been busy. In addition to having work currently on display at the Major League Baseball Fan Cave, Borbay was recently featured by New York Runner Magazine and profiled on the BBC. Beyond working on a series of private commissions and a recent painting trip to Montauk, he is currently preparing a portrait series for exhibition this fall, which will be announced in the very near future.
