The Mint Bar Painting, And Great Adventures With Travis and Chas

The Mint Bar Painting by Borbay

It was a great American Adventure! Just yours truly, Chas and Travis of Jackson Hole Stillworks… road tripping from Jackson Hole to Cheyenne, for the Wyoming Governor’s Conference. We ate sushi, drank cocktails, hung out with a man named Monkey…

Here’s my painting of the FABULOUS Mint Bar marquee, a Sheridan landmark, captured in a 45-second time lapse. Thank you MH the Verb and GR Stone for the beats. Now, let’s jump into the road trip!

It was glorious to have the boys right next door… oh baby, look at that Jackalope. Thank you Travis for snapping some pics… very cool.

Focused. Also, my beard? Unruly, at a minimum. Working on blocking out the major shapes. During the ugly stage, people walk by and force a kind smile…

Once the tubes come into play, things get exciting.

Had a few locale shifts during day two. This ended up being a fabulous position for the Gala. My tram painting raised some G’s for the WLRA Education Foundation — thank you for the acquisition Adam!

And here she is… The Mint Bar neon, aglow, on what we decided was a cool October evening. And now… for the road trip!

Chas and Travis, scoping out the beauty of nature.

Travis’ whip is a monster… so smooth. So very smooth. Here are the boys, ready to hit the road.

Burn it down, build it back up. Nature.

Fast food? If you consider sushi at 70mph… then this is indeed, fast food. Chas is feeding Travis. Safety first. Then friendship.

So Pinedale has some dope neon!

Another Cowboy Bar? Oh yes, I shall paint you.

Along the way, Chas and Travis introduced me to many of their fabulous business associates. Here I am, obviously very proud of my Jackalope bottle, at Country Lane — one helluva liquor store in The Dale’.

And come again we shall, pardner. I really tried to center that truck.

A bridge to tomorrow.

We stopped by Cowboy Country Distillery for a quick tour and a taste. Amazing support from business-to-business in the same vertical, here in Wyoming.

A stop along The Oregon Trail.

Amazing to imagine what it was like to traverse this land in a horse and carriage.

Abandoned gas stations are my favorite gas stations.

Look at that signage…

A peek inside… obviously, this place was run by a Virgo.

Lust PPP… beats LUST PCP, me thinks.

Chas getting his swag serf on.

If you are ever near Eden, this saloon is an absolute must!

I paid Chas $4.

Perhaps one of the most American photo ever… a dog named Buster in a Wyoming bar with Bud and Coors.

Then there’s the plastic light-up version of Spuds MacKenzie, member?

The new owners of Eden! That’s Cheryl, Wes ‘Psycho’ White, Harvey, Chas and Travis.

At the conference, I finally got to meet Clarene Law… owner of The Antler. We held hands, which was nice.

Just us boys, hanging with the lovely Bridgette from Town & Country Liquors in Cheyenne. She manages the largest liquor store in the state!

Oh baby! That Highwater, so smooth.

To celebrate Trav’s birthday, we hit up The Crown Bar… things got heated between Chas and fabulous artist/hockey star, Cal Brackin.

Hanging with my new friends, Monkey and bartender Desiree.

A cheers, fellow New York natives… if my hair wasn’t receding from my head, I’d go for one last Hawk… alas.

The birthday boy and a cheers! Important to note… Travis’ wife, Hadden, also had a birthday that day! Thank you for letting me keep your man on the road.

When Jack Daniel’s is missing an ‘s’, shenanigans will ensue. Well played, Cal. Well played.

Another must paint!

Reflecting on a crazy, beautiful experience.

And the boys, with The Mint. Thank you Chas and Travis for a beautiful trip. Thank you Tom Miller for everything you do, womb-mate. While I tried to get photos of everything and everyone, I missed a legion of new friends! Leslie Tom, you made some beautiful music! Loved meeting the crews from Backwards DistilleryRodeo Wyoming Whiskey, Wyoming Whiskey, Black Tooth Brewing; Governor Mead, Carrie and Jason… Can’t wait to catch-up with you all, as I travel this great state of Wyoming.

Oh, yes, and the key to a viral video, is spend the first 30 or so seconds, saying it’s a viral video. Our Saratoga Hot Springs crew, Tiffany, Cheena and Scott; Christi, Tom, Zach, Tate and Kim joined us for this fabulous slice of magic!
