  February 16 Iona College Gallery Walk-Through, Ionian Show Review UPDATED General Action | (0)

  On Thursday, February 16th, at 6:30PM, both myself and artist Ryan Seslow will be providing a walk-through of our show: "Street Legal - Gratiffyti: Seslow & Borbay on Canvas", at The Brother Kenneth Chapman Gallery Iona College Arts Center. Our exhibition was recently covered by the Ionian, here is a taste: "What at first glance appears to be another exhibit dedicated to street art becomes much more complex at further examination.   Borbay in Bangkok, A Honeymoon Tale, Part One General Action | (4)

  The day after Christmas, we packed our bags and flew to Bangkok for our belated honeymoon. It was a luscious four week excursion. I did things unprecedented in my adult life... I read seven books without interruption. Sat on the beach. Worked very little.   While Joe Flacco and Tom Brady were busy exchanging sacked lunches, Ryan Seslow and yours truly were hosting the opening reception for “Street Legal – Gratiffyti: Seslow & Borbay on Canvas” at Iona College.   Iona College Art Exhibition Preview, Gratiffyti: Seslow & Borbay, Opening Sunday 1.22.2012 Collaboration, General Action | (1)

  This Sunday, January 22nd, from 1:00-3:00 PM, “Street Legal – Gratiffyti: Seslow & Borbay on Canvas” will open at Iona College. Taking place at the The Brother Kenneth Chapman Gallery Iona College Arts Center, this exhibit will explore a NYC inspired street style, on canvas, with a focus on portraiture. My self portrait anchors the wall opposite the entrance. This piece was completed in January 2010, and stylistically set the compass for the ensuing two years.   2011 Borbay’s Year In Review on Canvas and Beyond General Action | (0)

  2011 began true and proper with HOV... a work of art, a Warhol (already). He was both the first of my #KingsOfHipHop, and the first painting of the year. Looking back, 2010 kicked-off with a flavor of Vegas, and 2009 was about the actual jump from ad-man to artist. Jay-Z got a nice little shout from The Source, a terrific start to year filled with outstanding press coverage. While Jay was in process, I was also working on a commission of Citi Field... at night.
