During my first year as a professional artist, I set out to paint The Guggenheim. Instantly falling in love with Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece, I decided to create a Guggenheim painting each year for 20 years. The resulting series should reflect a long-term style evolution, with the canvas size (30″X30″), vantage point (SW corner of East 89th and 5th Avenue), time of year (Summer) and subject serving as the constants.
Here is the series to date (most recent first):
The Guggenheim #4 | 30”X30” | 2012 | Sold | Acrylic and China Marker on Canvas | Process
The Guggenheim #3 | 30”X30” | 2011 | Sold | Acrylic and Collage on Canvas | Process
The Guggenheim Redux – Target Tony Hayward | 30”X30” | 2010 | Available | Collage and Acrylic on Canvas | Process
The Guggenheim | 30″X30″ | 2009 | Sold | Acrylic on Canvas | Process
ADDITIONAL GUGGENHEIM WORK
Occasionally I’ll create smaller paintings of The Guggenheim from other vantage points, here are the two I’ve created outside of the series to date:
Guggenheim Rotunda | 20”X20” | 2012 | Available | Acrylic, Graphite and China Marker on Canvas | Process
Guggenheim Rotunda From Central Park | 10”X10” | 2012 | Available | Acrylic and Graphite on Canvas | Process
