Coming up next in my dope actors kicking ass in monster roles: Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher in Gangs of New York. When I first saw this movie back in college, I instantly became obsessed with DDL's performance. So intense. Here is the photograph of the still from the movie — this is an important reveal scene, where the Butcher sees Dicaprio for the first time as he emerges from a fire saving a pal. Incidentally, Leo's "friend" Johnny (played by Henry Thomas), is the same exact back-stabbing wimpy character he played in Suicide Kings (Avery). Daniel Day joins Pitt ...

Coming up next, in what is becoming my "actors in movies I love being bad-ass and, thus far, all wearing hats" series — Brad Pitt in Snatch. Here is the cropped-to-frame, digitally altered image which will serve as the composition. Mr. Pitt — aka, Pikey Pitt (and yes, I realize "Pikey" is a naughty word, but in the context of the film, it works, so it too shall work in the context of this painting) will be the second piece in this series. If watching the same movie 100 times a year indicates brain damage, color me cracked. One of my favorite all-time book/movie combinations is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
