  Painting Process | Triboro Bridge Commission Painting Process | (2)

  In a move of great fiscal responsibility, the city renamed the Triboro to the RFK Bridge. While I don't agree with Koching every bridge in a money-hemorrhaging city, I do enjoy painting them. In fact, this commissioned picture was based on a previous Triboro painting I created. For this go-round, I was fortunate enough to have a good friend with this stunning view from his kitchen.   2010 Borbay’s Year in Review on Canvas General Action | (3)

  2010 kicked-off with a new title — Time Out New York's Most Creative New Yorker... and a broken fibula. By the end of my first full calendar year as a professional artist, I hung in two exhibitions, got back on the ice, painted furiously and most importantly — got engaged to the woman of my dreams. As you can see, my clean cut advertising image changed greatly per my portrait above. I have no resolutions for 2011, other than to keep pressing forward. 2009 was great, 2010 was incredible, 2011...   Plein Air | Robert F Kennedy Bridge (AKA TriBoro Bridge) Late Evening Painting Process | (1)

  Nothing beats a quick, fresh and loose plein air painting session on a Saturday. Setting up on my roof deck, I decided to capture the TriBoro Bridge (renamed the Robert F Kennedy Bridge in a fit of fine fiscal judgment by the perpetually frisky, former fat kat of Albany.)   This style of collage painting lends itself to interesting visual challenges. It is important to organize a certain level of chaos beneath a rather straight forward composition and subject matter.   Urbania Event Photographs | Borbay’s One Night Only Art Exhibition Art Exhibit, General Action, Urbania | (6)

  Featured in Time Out New York and The Huffington Post, Urbania, Borbay's debut one-night-only art exhibition was a smashing success. Hosted at M&T Bank's Flatiron location and produced by Justin Brock Schantz (above with Borbay) of Left Brain Power, over 350 beautiful people enjoyed the architectural impressionist work, while sipping delicious Montecristo Rum and St-Germain cocktails.
